Wildcats sew up GSL title
Mt. Spokane polished off its first GSL regular-season football championship by defeating Rogers 56-0 Friday night at Albi Stadium.
Colten Williams and Chase Naccarato scored three touchdowns apiece for the Wildcats (7-1).
Williams finished with 118 yards on 10 carries.
Naccarato ran for two scores and also returned a punt 49 yards for a Wildcats touchdown.
The Wildcats were already assured of the league’s top seed to the Class 3A playoffs.
Mt. Spokane will play Sunnyside, the Columbia Basin-Big Nine League’s third seed, in a regional playoff matchup Friday at Albi.
East Valley is the No. 2 GSL seed to the playoffs. The Knights play the Columbia Basin-Big Nine League’s No. 1 seed, Hanford.
Both of next week’s winners go to the state playoffs.
