Kootenai stops Lakeside with two-point conversion

Jake Hall scored a two-point conversion with less than 2 minutes remaining to lift host Kootenai to a wild 50-48 win over Lakeside in a North Star League game Friday night at Harrison.

The Warriors (2-0) stopped the Knights (1-1) three times on fourth down in the final 5 minutes and Hayden Kraack scored on a 22-yard pass from Brandon Carman to set up Hall’s winner.

Lakeside raced to a 42-26 lead at the half and pushed it to 48-26 early in the third quarter, but the Warriors scored the final three touchdowns and were successful on the conversion each time.

Hall finished with three touchdown and 282 yards on 33 carries. Carman completed 8 of 12 passes for 134 yards and three touchdowns and Kraack caught four passes for 100 yards and two scores.

After the defense held the first time with about 5 minutes left, Kootenai fumbled the ball back. After another stop, the Warriors put together the winner, but it was still up to the defense to hold on.

Levi Dole led Lakeside with 202 yards on 30 carries, scoring four times.

Mullan 36, Clark Fork 12: Casey McKinnon ran for two touchdowns and threw for another and Tucker Sadlar ran for two more touchdowns as the Tigers (1-0) went on the road to whip the Wampus Cats (0-2).
