Incumbents are the culprits

The Spokesman-Review

Concerning the Aug. 26 article “Record budget deficit forecast”: President Bush controls the federal executive branch for the last eight years, including the federal Congress being controlled by the Republicans for six of those eight years. The results? They doubled the size of the federal government, almost tripled the national debt, lied about invading Iraq, initiated a failed war in Afghanistan, and under their watch the financial industry created massive mortgage fraud that almost tripped the entire global economy into a worldwide depression.

For three years the Democrats have controlled federal Congress. The results? Not only have they not ended the wars in the Middle East, they have greatly increased U.S. troops there. They have tripled the yearly federal budget deficits to over $1.5 trillion. They have not been able to produce national health care, or to overturn the anti-competitive clause of the Medicaid/Medicare drug program passed by the Republicans. They funded the financial bailouts and turned a blind eye to massive bonuses paid out to the financial executives, some of whom helped create the massive mortgage fraud.

The reaction from U.S. voters? They keep re-electing the same politicians. Don’t like the above? Look in the mirror.
