Cougars 7-0 in volleyball

Sophomore outside hitter Meagan Ganzer had 11 kills and four blocks and senior middle blocker Cassie Robbins had 10 kills and three blocks to lead unbeaten Washington State to its seventh volleyball victory, 3-0 over Weber State Monday in Ogden, Utah.

The Cougars also got 13 digs from freshman libero Oceana Bush (Lewis and Clark) and 10 digs from senior outside hitter Jackie Albright in the 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 sweep.

Men’s soccer

Elly Bulega and Justin Meyer scored 74 seconds apart midway through the first half and Whitworth (1-0-1) withstood a late rally from St. Thomas University for a 2-1 victory in Saint Paul, Minn.

•North Idaho shut out visiting Community Colleges of Spokane 2-0 in the Cardinal Classic.

Women’s soccer

Host North Idaho got a goal from Brittany Cook in the first minute of the second half to earn a 1-1 tie with Community Colleges of Spokane in the windup of the Cardinal Classic.

Maile Cobb had given CCS the lead 25 minutes in.

Both schools had 0-1-1 records in the Classic, losing during the weekend to Laramie County, Wyo.
