Jurors hear too much
Ladies and gentlemen of the Spokane public, you have to love the federal government for taking three years to come to the conclusion that Officer Karl Thompson did something wrong after city and state officials decided that he had not.
The Spokesman-Review was able to find a so-called use-of-force expert in Florida to cast doubt upon the actions of Officer Thompson (“Zehm inquiry continuing,” Sept. 17). And finally Jeffry Finer of the so-called Center for Justice, after searching far and wide, located Richard Rosenstock, another attorney and expert from where? Oh, that’s right, New Mexico.
Folks, you can probably see by now that what this paper has accomplished is to completely taint the jury pool, making it next to impossible to obtain a fair trial for this officer. Let’s not kid ourselves; in the final analysis, this will be all about U.S. currency.
