For those keeping up, ‘Joneses’ was filmed here

David Duchovny, left, and Demi Moore are shown in a scene from “The Joneses,” which was partially filmed in Spokane last July. Roadside Attractions (Roadside Attractions)

If you go see that new David Duchovny-Demi Moore-Amber Heard movie, “The Joneses,” which opened here Friday, you might notice some familiar scenery.

Portions of the movie were filmed in Spokane. Duchovny and a second-unit crew came to town last July to film a few scenes of this suburban consumerism-gone-mad satire. We know for a fact that Duchovny was spotted last summer shooting hoops with some local gym rats.

Most of the movie, however was filmed in Atlanta and vicinity.

Elton in Yakima

For true Elton John fanatics, Yakima is certainly not too far to drive.

Sir Elton will be playing the Yakima SunDome on July 18 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $39 to $139, through TicketsWest outlets (325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com).

This show will be part of his “Rocket Man – the Greatest Hits Live” tour. John played Pullman in 2008 and the Spokane Arena in 1999.

By the way, I thought I’d save you the trouble of MapQuest-ing it: Yakima is 204 miles from Spokane, or just a little more than three hours.

Bing CD release

Bing Crosby sold millions of 78’s and LPs over his lifetime, but not all of his music has been readily available on CD.

Six titles, soon to be released by Collector’s Choice Music, will help remedy that.

Here’s what’s coming on CD:

• “Seasons,” Crosby’s final album from 1977, never available on CD. Includes 13 bonus tracks.

• “Return to Paradise Islands,” a collection of Hawaiian favorites from 1963.

• “On the Sentimental Side,” an unreleased 1962 album.

• “Bing On Broadway,” a new collection of rare material.

• “El Senor Bing,” a 1960 album, never available on CD.

• “So Rare: Treasures From the Crosby Archive,” a two-CD set of private recordings, outtakes and rare tracks.

They’ll be available only through Collector’s Choice Music, www.ccmusic.com or (800) 993-6344. The official release date is May 18, but some of them are already available.

This is only the beginning of a collaboration between Collector’s Choice Music and the Bing Crosby Archive. More releases will be forthcoming.

‘Philadelphia Story’

Speaking of Bing, the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave., hosts its next classic movie night on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with 1940’s “The Philadelphia Story” starring Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn and Jimmy Stewart.

This combative romantic comedy routinely shows up on best-ever movie lists.

Admission is free, but a $5 donation will be accepted.

Mozart’s Requiem

Gonzaga University’s Choir and Chorale will perform Mozart’s famous Requiem in D Minor on Monday, 7:30 p.m. at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox, 1001 W. Sprague Ave.
