Pedestrian killed by car in Desmet, Idaho

An 18-year-old driver struck and killed a 22-year-old pedestrian early today in Desmet, Idaho, and alcohol is believed to be involved, according to the Idaho State Police. Andrea M. George, of Desmet, was airlifted to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane after her 2002 Honda Civic hit Patrick A. Gourneau, of Tensed, as she crested a hill. The crashed occurred on Desmet Road at Ajot Road - a residential area - about 5:56 a.m. Gourneau was pronounced dead at the scene. George is listed in serious condition at Sacred Heart. George’s passenger, Ashley A. Justice, 20, was not injured.
