Driver booked after South Hill crash that injures passenger
A Spokane driver was arrested just after midnight after failing to negotiate a corner at High Drive and South Grand Boulevard and crashing into the landscaping of an adjacent residence, Washington State Patrol troopers said.
Vitaliy V. Ivanov, 28, was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of vehicular assault, reckless driving, attempting to elude a police officer and resisting arrest.
A passenger, Sergei M. Savin, 34, was injured but refused treatment, troopers said.
Ivanov was headed south on Grand when he failed to make the turn where High Drive meets East 43rd Avenue. Troopers said that Ivanov was driving under the influence of intoxicants at the time.
