A 58-year-old Bellevue man died tonight when his motorcycle collided with a car on Highway 395 south of Deer Park. Richard P. Wittgenstein was riding his 2007 Harley-Davidson on the highway shortly before 5 p.m. when a northbound 2007 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Richard A. Handley, 65, of Loon Lake crossed over the center line, striking Wittgenstein in the southbound lane, according to Washington State Patrol. Wittgenstein, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. Handley sustained minor injuries that were treated at the scene. The crash occurred six miles south of Deer Park near Half Moon Road and blocked the highway for several hours. Charges are pending, according to WSP. Highway 395 is clear for other traffic.
