Kennewick man killed in Egypt bus crash

KENNEWICK – A Kennewick man was among eight tourists killed in a bus accident in Egypt over the weekend, and his partner was one of about two dozen people who were injured. Mike Braun and Sue Flink were part of a group of about 100 tourists in three buses heading to the ancient Egyptian Abu Simbel temples Sunday, the Tri-City Herald reported. One bus with 37 passengers crashed into a disabled truck. Braun was director of the Franklin County Noxious Weed Board. Funeral arrangements are pending. Flink, a retired educator, is in a hospital in Cairo. Her sister, Colleen Cowan, says she has two broken legs, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
