Crash in foggy conditions injures Spokane Valley man

The Spokesman-Review
Foggy weather and driving too fast under limited visibility were blamed for a traffic accident this morning that injured a Spokane Valley man. Earl T. Rice, 69, was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment and then released following the 4:15 a.m. accident on Interstate 90 near the Geiger Boulevard exit west of downtown Spokane. Washington State Patrol troopers said that Rice was cited for driving too fast for the conditions when he collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by Dean Crosby, 55, of Salem, Ore. Crosby was not injured. Both drivers were headed east on I-90 in the right lane when the accident occurred. Rice was driving a Kia Sportage.
