Burn victims remain sedated at Harborview

Two Spokane residents burned in a fire in a backyard recreational vehicle on Friday remained at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where they were under sedation Monday as part of their treatment, fire officials said. A 44-year-old woman was in critical condition and a 55-year-old man was listed in serious condition, said Assistant Fire Chief Brian Schaffer. Their identities were being withheld by authorities. Fire investigators so far have not determined the cause of the blaze, which was reported at 5:18 p.m. on Friday at 5611 N. Perry St. Schaeffer said the investigator on the case will need to interview the victims to try to determine a cause. There were no indications of any suspicious activity, he said. The recreational vehicle was connected to an extension cord from the house, he said.
