Rehab facility at risk?

The Spokesman-Review

The recent disagreements between Deaconess and Valley hospitals, now owned by the mega-hospital chain Community Health Systems Inc., and Spokane’s hugely successful Inland Northwest Heath Services, have far-reaching implications that have yet to surface. St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, part of INHS’ collaborative group of heath care services, could also be swept up in the brooding financial dispute as it continues to boil over.

The importance of St Luke’s to this community, as the region’s only rehabilitative facility of its kind, cannot be emphasized enough. How many of us have a family member or loved one who has benefited from St. Luke’s quality care?

This community has more riding on the financial health of INHS than it realizes. I just hope CHS realizes it too.
