Remodeled sports pub opens under new name – Club 41

What had been Paddy’s II tavern at 900 Highway 41 (at its intersection with Mullan Road in Post Falls) is now Club 41. The 3,000-square-foot sports pub is remodeled with seating for 30-plus customers.

Amenities include several flat-screen TVs and a stereo system, pool tables, dart boards and video games. Coming soon are a ping pong table and Wii station. Food comes from the neighboring Nate’s New York Pizza. Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight daily.

A Coeur d’Alene native, owner T.W. Fisher, started T.W. Fisher’s Brew Pub and the Coeur d’Alene Brewing Co. in Coeur d’Alene. In 2002 he went into real estate with Century 21 Beutler & Associates. He has five employees at Club 41.

Exxon Quik Stop now open

Offering much more than a convenience store/gas station’s normal basic items, the Exxon Quik Stop is now open midway (just north of the Verizon store) on Northwest Boulevard in Coeur d’Alene.

The completely renovated building includes numerous food and beverage coolers, including one nicknamed the Beer Cave as it’s big enough to be a cave to house many stacks of many types of beer. The store also will have many options of wine, a coffee bar and a full-service deli with the menu changing with the time of day.

Originally from India, owner Gary Singh came to the United States in 1966 and joined family and friends in the Inland Northwest about 25 years ago. He also owns the Shell station farther south on Northwest Boulevard. Hours at the Quik Stop will be 5 a.m. to midnight and extending with the tourist season. With help from son Andy, Singh has five employees.

Big Yellow Kitchen moves around

It could be at a special event such as a festival, race or powwow, but for the winter the Big Yellow Mobile Kitchen is in the Goodwill parking lot at the corner of Fourth Street and Harrison Avenue in Coeur d’Alene.

Timothy and Debbie Patterson tow the 24-foot trailer to where the action is in the four-state Northwest. Using the fully equipped kitchen, they offer all types of burgers (including elk and buffalo), pulled pork and barbecue beef sandwiches, cheese steaks, Italian sausage, huge curly fries, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, hot dogs, beverages and more.

Originally from Southern California, the Pattersons came to Hauser Lake 20 years ago. Family and friends help with the Big Yellow, and hours at the Goodwill lot are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 to 4 Saturdays. They also offer catering and phone-in (minimum $15) box lunches. Phone: (208) 457-2408.

Sports Training Center opens Feb. 1

Maximized athletic potential and self-confidence are the goals of UA Sports Performance Training Center. Opening Feb. 1 at 7791 N. Aqua Circle Drive (behind Andy’s Heating & Cooling) in Dalton Gardens, the facility will offer collegiate-style training and science-based strength and conditioning programs.

The renovated 1,500-square-foot facility includes new strength training and conditioning equipment. Owner Bryan “Bud” Rasmussen said the focus will be personalized with semi-private training sessions featuring small-group instruction.

A former coach at Coeur d’Alene High School and North Idaho College, Rasmussen recently coached at the University of Washington and the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Facility tours start Jan. 25, and training hours will be 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Phone: (208) 691-0404. Check www.ultimateathlete-cda.com.
