A wreck waits around the bend

The Spokesman-Review

Many are saying the Democrats should rethink their agenda and change direction, but I say no way! Democrats seem poised to double down their efforts to accomplish their agenda. Good for them. Rarely have I seen such a clear picture of the political landscape and what’s happening in America.

Here’s the scene: Democrats in the car with their agenda racing down the road with good majorities in Congress. Foot on the gas, passing huge spending legislation left and right. Tea parties growing all around; no bother, they’re on cruise.

Unemployment skyrocketing, people getting mad; no worry, turn on the radio. Elections in New Jersey and Virginia turn sour. Even some conservative rumblings in New York throw up warning signs – fluke. A special election in Massachusetts produces a shocker and a seeming brick wall is ahead, sure to divert the course of everything. Nope, we’re dedicated and committed.

Let’s push the pedal through the floorboard! Nobody can stop us! Our best chance in 50 years. Hey, is that a cliff up ahead? Nah, can’t be. It’s a trick, a mirage. Full throttle, baby!

Good! Let ’em. Scott Brown’s election was a tsunami, but there’s a political bloodbath coming in November.
