Police investigating man’s death as a homicide

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane police said today they’re investigating the death of a man found Wednesday under the Sunset Boulevard bridge as a homicide.

The body of William Pickard, 38, was spotted by passers-by next to a south side bridge pier on the western bank of Latah Creek in High Bridge Park.

Police are seeking assistance in locating Pickard’s vehicle, a 2007 white Mercury Mariner with Washington license plate 378-YVZ.

They didn’t elaborate on what is leading them to consider the case a homicide.

Parts of the park were closed while Major Crimes detectives investigated, after first responder crews determined the person was dead. It is not known how long the body had been there.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or case is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
