VANCOUVER, B.C – Wade Kirkland’s one-out RBI single to left field in the 10th inning Wednesday gave the Vancouver Canadians a 2-1 win over the Spokane Indians in Northwest League baseball at Nat Bailey Stadium. The hit came off Spokane’s fifth pitcher, Johan Yan (0-1). Vancouver scored an unearned run in the third on Kirkland’s bases-loaded walk. Indians starter Miguel De Los Santos left the bases loaded, striking out the next two batters. Spokane (1-4) tied the game in the sixth. Alejandro Selen led off with a double to left, moved to third on Jurickson Profar’s infield single, and scored on a double play. Spokane left the bases loaded in the 10th when Jason Kudlock struck out after being ahead 3-1 in the count.
  • Catcher Brett Nicholas, a sixth-round selection from Missouri, joined Spokane’s roster. Nicholas batted .352 during his junior year.
