International concert Monday

•The First Church of the Nazarene, 9007 N. Country Homes Blvd., will present the American Theatre Organ Society convention members from Australia, Japan and six European countries in a concert Monday at 1 p.m.

Musicians will play the church’s 1914 Wurlitzer Theatre Organ which was originally played at the Liberty Theater in Seattle. The church has been working to restore the instrument for four years.

Tickets to the concert are $20, and the proceeds will be used to help finish the final steps of the organ restoration.

Vacation Bible schools

•Sunrise Church of Christ , 4718 N. Ash St., will present “Saddle Ridge Ranch,” a vacation Bible school Monday through July 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Kids age 3 through the sixth grade are invited to attend for free.

Buddhist events

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., will present a “Vipsassana Meditation Retreat” Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature Bhante Seelawimala, a visiting Therevada Monk from Sri Lanka and professor at the Institute of Studies and Theological Union in Berkeley, Calif.

The cost to attend the retreat is a $30 minimum donation which includes lunch.

The temple will also present Seelawimala in a Buddhism lecture Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m.

The lecture is free and will be followed by a Jodo Shinshu service at 10:30 a.m.

Film festival

The Unity Center of North Spokane, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, will present a film festival Friday and Sunday.

The first movie will be “Fierce Light – When Spirit Meets Action” Friday at 7 p.m.

Sunday’s movie, “How to Know God: Deepak Chopra,” will be shown at 7 p.m.
