Congregation plans to watch DVD of Prior’s consecration

The congregation of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will view a DVD of the consecration of their former pastor, the Rev. Brian Prior, as the new Bishop of Minnesota. The ceremony took place in February. The viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday and Prior is expected to be in attendance.

The event will also include a potluck meal. Those with last names beginning with the letters A-H are asked to bring a main dish; letters J-P a salad or vegetable; and letters Q-Z a dessert.

The church also has plans to host its annual St. Patrick’s Day gathering next Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The menu will include the classic favorites of corned beef, cabbage, soda bread and carrot salad. Donations will be accepted.

The church is at 15319 E. Eighth Ave.

Seminar

Lakeside Church in Liberty Lake will host a “Real Jesus Seminar” hosted by Stan Fleming of Gate Breaker Ministries on Sunday and Monday. Fleming is an author and teacher of Christian apologetics. He will speak on “The Real Jesus” and “Answering Mormonism” from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. On Monday he will speak on “Answering Islam” from 7 to 9 p.m.

Book sale

Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road, will host is annual book sale today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will also include games, puzzles and videos.
