Fire closes highway near Wellpinit

Washington State troopers have closed a highway in Stevens County today while firefighters attempt to extinguish a house fire near Wellepinit. The fire broke out after 11 a.m, forcing closure of state Highway 231 just south of Ford-Wellepinit Road. Details of the fire were not given.
