Chiefs home with 3-3 record

Dave Trimmer

My apologies hockey fans. I thought Saturday night after cross country writing, I would have more information on the Spokane Chiefs’ 3-1 win at Swift Current. That information never came. Still nothing on Sunday when I checked from home. Then I realized that maybe, just maybe, there wasn’t a daily newspaper covering the Broncos so any it would take a while to get anything. So what we have is the Chiefs’ rewrite and an internet story .

But with five days to burn before the first home game in 2 1/2 weeks, it’s a good time for fans to weigh in with their thoughts.

I believe a 3-3 record on the Eastern swing for a team that started a touch below .500 is outstanding. The report I hear is the Chiefs played one poor game, the first one in Moose Jaw, and almost stole that. The 11-1 romp in Regina is still mind-boggling, being the first visitor to win in Saskatoon this season is impressive … well, it was just a good road trip.

There are only four home games this month, two this weekend. Are we going to notice a different team - or more precisesly, a different attitude? A team with a little more confidence maybe? I hear the team is still struggling to finish around the net. I hope to put together some information on that.

Should be interesting when I touch bases with the team later this week.

By the way, I’m supposed to beg for Twitter followers, due to an in-house competition. What you’ll get is an update after every goal (almost) at home games and links to this site, where stories are linked. If you’re interested, it’s SRtrim.
