CBBN rejects GSL proposal, again

In early October, Ryan, on behalf of the GSL coaches, asked the CBBN to reconsider a proposal to put the GSL’s district champion against the CBBN’s No. 3 seed so that the GSL district runner-up could play the CBBN’s district runner-up for a chance to qualify for the regional/state tourney. In the playoff scenario, the games would be played on the Tuesday before the regional/state openers, with the GSL No. 2 traveling to the CBBN No. 2 and the CBBN No. 3 traveling to the GSL No. 1.
“They cited that most of the Big 9 3A’s simply wanted to take their two Dist 5/6 allocations and advance directly to the state regional,” Ryan said in an e-mail sent out moments ago. “They did not want to play on Tuesday before the state regional and risk one of their allocations.”
