BSU’s Hout out for season

Boise State starting middle linebacker Byron Hout will miss the rest of the season after breaking his foot in the No. 3 Broncos’ victory over Idaho.

Coach Chris Petersen says Hout (No. 94 in picture) will have surgery later this week to repair the foot and it’s not clear if he’ll be ready to play in a bowl game.

Hout, from Lake City High, was making the transition from defensive line and his 34 tackles are fourth best on the team.

Meanwhile, Boise State closed the gap on TCU in the latest BCS standings. The top three teams are Oregon, Auburn and the Horned Frogs.
