A Gonzaga University student in her 20s was injured about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was hit by a minivan as she crossed Mission Avenue at Astor Street.

The woman, whose name was not released, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

Police said she was knocked out of her shoes and landed nearly 70 feet away from where she was hit. She was trying to cross the westbound lanes of Mission when the accident happened, police said. The car in the right lane stopped to let her cross; the minivan did not, and it struck her. No citations have been issued.
