Vandals lead USU 14-6 at half

Josh Wright

The Idaho defense played its most inspired half of the past month — without starting safety Shiloh Keo — and Eric Greenwood caught two touchdown passes from Nate Enderle to help the Vandals take a 14-6 lead over Utah State into the half at Romney Stadium in Logan. The Vandals held the Aggies to 112 yards and forced two field goals in the red zone.

UI was 6 of 8 on third downs in the first two quarters and got 84 yards on two kickoff returns. The first long runback came with a lucky bounce: Kama Bailey fumbled the ball after a 36-yard gain, but Trey Williams recovered for 11 more yards to set up the Vandals’ first TD of the game.

Keo was suspended for the first half by the WAC for an illegal hit in the Boise State game. He’s expected back for the third quarter. I’ll be posting updates on Twitter at SR_JoshWright .
