Firefighters battle two Spokane-area blazes
Firefighters spent the holiday battling two separate house fires.
Wednesday night, Spokane firefighters doused a blaze at a home in the 500 block of East Princeton that sent a resident to the hospital with what authorities described as minor burns.
The Fire Department had responded to reports of smoke coming from the house at 11:25 p.m. The fire was contained to the room of origin and about $10,000 worth of damage was reported.
The burned individual, whose identity was unavailable, was treated by medics at the scene and later taken to a hospital by family members.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation. Firefighters installed a working smoke detector at the home before they left.
In Spokane Valley today, firefighters battled flames at a home in the 800 block of South University Road.
