Prep roundup: NC withstands Shadle’s bevy of shots

Shadle Park kept peppering Asia Porter with shots on Wednesday, but Porter stood tall.

Porter recorded 16 saves as North Central (2-7, 2-3) posted a 1-0 win over Shadle (7-3, 2-3) at Albi Stadium despite being outshot 23-6. Carol Johnson headed in Anna Aho’s corner kick at 63 minutes for NC.

Elsewhere, Mikayla Anderson had three goals and two assists to lead host Mead (10-0-1, 5-0) to a 4-1 win over Ferris. Madi Miley of Ferris (5-3-1, 2-3) scored the first goal against Mead in three matches. … Alex Richardson and Kaleigh Fox scored second-half goals to give Central Valley (8-2, 3-2) a 3-1 win over visiting Mt. Spokane. Amanda Howe scored just before halftime for Mt. Spokane (6-4, 2-3). … Ashley Ames fed Jessica Bennett for a goal at 30 minutes, and Bennett returned the favor 9 minutes later as Gonzaga Prep (8-3, 2-3) posted a 3-0 win at University (4-3, 2-3). … Jess Kennedy scored her first of two goals in the first minute, and Sarah Barrentine had a goal and an assist in the first 3 minutes as Lewis and Clark (11-0-1, 5-0) took a 7-2 win at Rogers (1-6, 0-5).
