Boise Hawks edge Spokane Indians 1-0

The Spokesman-Review
BOISE – Brett Ebinger struck out eight in five innings Thursday as Boise edged the Spokane Indians 1-0 to complete a three-game Northwest League baseball series at Memorial Stadium. Ebinger (3-2), who lost at Spokane last Saturday, allowed two hits and walked none. The left-hander outdueled Spokane’s Randol Rojas (5-4), who gave up eight hits and one earned run in six innings. Boise scored the lone run in the third inning, after Rojas recorded two groundouts. Kyung-Min Na reached on an infield single and moved to second base on Rojas’ balk. Arismendy Alcantara followed with an RBI single to right field. Spokane left five runners in scoring position. Alejandro Selen tripled off reliever Dallas Beeler to open the sixth, but the Indians couldn’t get him home. Spokane’s Kellin Deglan popped out to end the game with pinch-runner Jhonny Gomez at second base. Boise won the series 2-1 and split 12 games with Spokane this season. The Hawks and Eugene (5-5) are the only NWL teams to play .500 against Spokane. Tri-City, 4-5 against Spokane this year, will host the Indians for the last three games of the regular season, starting Friday night. The Indians will play Game 1 of the NWL East divisional series at 7:05 Monday night at Yakima. Game 2 will be at Spokane at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
