Five grizzlies caught prowling near Montana homes
Montana wildlife officials say they have captured five grizzly bears that were searching for food too close to homes in northwestern Montana.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say the agency has responded to a large number of bear reports in the past two weeks.
Last Monday, officials captured a 6-year-old grizzly sow and her two cubs near a home in the Coram area. The bears were released along the North Fork of the Flathead River.
On Friday, a 475-pound male grizzly was captured in a garage in the Swan Valley. Wildlife officials say the same bear killed sheep and chickens last year, and they decided to euthanize it.
On Saturday, officials captured an 18-year-old grizzly walking on the edge of a backyard near Lake Blaine. The bear was released in Quintonkin Creek.
