Barber logs hat trick as Ferris clinches GSL soccer crown

Senior forward Brandon Barber came up with a hat trick and the Ferris Saxons defeated the Rogers Pirates to clinch the Greater Spokane League soccer championship on Friday with a 4-0 victory at Rogers.

Barber scored the first three goals and senior Parker Stults came up with his sixth league shutout as Ferris ended with 24 points.

Ferris will meet Mead at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Albi Stadium for the 4A District 8 championship and the No. 1 seed to regionals. The loser of that game will play the winner of Wednesday’s 4 p.m. game at Albi between No. 3 Lewis and Clark and No. 4 Central Valley on May 10 to determine the final two seeds to regional.

The No. 2 3A seed, University plays No. 3 Shadle Park Monday at 6 at Albi. The winner faces No. 1 Mt. Spokane at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Albi to decide the 1-2 regional seeds.
