Spokane Indians lose 7-6 at Salem-Keizer

SALEM, Ore. – Spokane came up with four runs in the sixth inning only to allow Salem-Keizer to come back with six in the bottom of the inning and the Volcanoes held off the Indians 7-6 in a Northwest League baseball game on Wednesday night.

The Indians scored four runs with two outs in the sixth on Edwin Garcia’s three run-homer that was followed by Yefry Castillo’s solo shot.

But in the bottom of the inning the Volcanoes had a solo home run and put together four singles, three walks, three stolen bases, an error and a wild pitch against three Spokane pitchers to take a 7-5 lead.

The Indians loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batter in the ninth. Zach Cone’s sacrifice fly with one out brought in a run but a groundout ended the game.

Edwin Garcia led the Indians with three hits and three RBIs. Reliever Jerad Eickhoff (1-1), the second of three Indians pitchers, took the loss.
