Religion Notebook: Rummage sale set

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will hold a rummage sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s Haiti Partnership Program and will provide funds for teachers’ salaries and meals for students at St. Andrés Episcopal School in Cazale, Haiti. The region is still struggling after a devastating earthquake in 2010.

The sale will include gently-used clothing, house wares, toys, tools, books, sports equipment and more.

It will be held in the Great Hall at the east end of the building.

Concert

Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th Ave., will present a free Concert in the Park Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Scheduled to perform are the RiversEdge Chorus, Daze Out and Hillyard Belles & Trainmen. A pie social will follow the concert.

Attendees should bring their own blankets and chairs.

Speaker

The Center for Spiritual Living, 2825 E. 33rd Ave., will present Vickie Downey, a member of the Tewa tribe from Tesuqueh Pueblo, N.M., Sunday at 10 a.m.

Downey will speak on the topic “Love, Life’s Vision.”

Evening of prayer

Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Road, will offer an evening of prayer Tuesday with the Rev. Joachim Hien.

Hien will speak on the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Admission is $35 and includes Mass at 5 p.m., dinner, two conferences with a question-and- answer session and a time for reflection.

Celtic service

St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., will present its next Celtic celebration today at 7 p.m.

The theme this month is “Air and Spirit” and will include communion, Celtic music by Janet and Brett Dodd. A potluck reception will follow the service.
