Kyle Fogg hit six 3-pointers and matched a career high with 26 points, helping No. 15 Arizona grind out a 67-52 win over rival Arizona State at Tempe, Ariz., on Sunday.

Arizona (21-4, 10-2 Pac-10) didn’t shoot particularly well against Arizona State’s zone – 40 percent – and leading scorer Derrick Williams was held to just 11 points. The Wildcats made up for it with a hounding defense and big contributions from Fogg, a 7.9-point scorer on the season, and Jesse Perry, who scored all of his 10 points in the second half.

Arizona State (9-15, 1-11) played gritty defense, blocking a season-high nine shots, but couldn’t find many seams in Arizona’s man-to-man defense while losing its 10th straight conference game.

Jamelle McMillan had 12 points, but the Sun Devils shot 37 percent. Leading scorers Trent Lockett and Ty Abbott combined for 17 points on 6-of-23 shooting.

Sacramento State 74, Montana State 71: At Bozeman, Mont., Alpha N’Diaye and Sultan Toles-Bey each scored 18 points and the Hornets beat the Bobcats for their first Big Sky road win.

John Dickson added 13 points for Sacramento State (7-17, 4-9), which shot 77.8 percent (14 of 18) in the second half.

Bobby Howard scored a career-high 28 points and added 11 rebounds for Montana State (11-14, 5-8), which has lost seven in a row, its longest losing streak since dropping eight straight to end the 1999-2000 season. Erik Rush had 20 points.

The Hornets led 27-25 at halftime and extended their advantage to 47-32 with 13:46 remaining. Sacramento State’s lead was 65-55 with 3 minutes left before Montana State went on a 13-5 run to cut the gap to 70-68 in the final minute.

The Bobcats, though, couldn’t get any closer and the Hornets held on to end a six-game losing streak in the series.

Montana State finished 5 of 33 from 3-point range while Sacramento State was 7 of 19.
