At 11:24 a.m. today, a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy spotted skid marks on Upriver Drive, just east of Upriver Dam. He found the skid marks led to a spot on the Spokane River bank where part of a tree was broken off. Sheriff’s divers found a car about 30 feet from shore. It was empty. The scene was investigated as a crime scene and the sheriff’s helicopter searched the area for any bodies or evidence from the scene, but what exactly happened isn’t clear. Spokane Police are investigating.
