Dennis Wheeler resigns from Cd’A Mines

Dennis Wheeler, the longtime president and CEO of Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp., resigned from that job on Monday and has been replaced by Mitchell Krebs, the company announced today. Wheeler has been Coeur d’Alene Mines’ CEO for 25 years. He’ll serve as a consultant for the company for another year, according to a news release. Krebs has been Coeur’s chief financial officer since 2008 and will continue to fill that role as well as president and CEO, the release said. “As an already proven and respected member of Coeur’s senior management team, the board is confident Mitch will guide the company to greater success,” the release said. “Mitch has been instrumental in Coeur’s growth and re-positioning over the past several years.” The release also said that Robert E. Mellor has been named non-executive chairman of the board. Coeur d’Alene Mines is a silver and gold producer that operates mines in Bolivia, Alaska, Mexico and Nevada.
