Four-car crash lands several in hospital

A four-car crash near Silverwood Theme Park landed several people in a hospital with non-life threatening injuries just before noon today. Carlos Lopez, 58, of Wapato, who was northbound on Highway 95 in a Honda Civic, looked away from the road and was unable to stop quickly enough when he looked back, rear-ending Amanda Gunn, of Coeur d’Alene, who was driving a Mazda MZ3, according to an Idaho State Police news release. Gunn’s car was pushed into a Honda Civic driven by Ashley Zuhlke, 18, of Burbank, Wash. Zuhlke’s vehicle was then pushed into a Chevy Classic driven by Oscar Gonzalez, 33, of Grandview, Wash, the news release said. Jasmine Alonzo, 17, Mikayla Cotton, 13, and Kiwani Mack, 24, were transported to Kootenai Medical Center after the crash, according to the news release. Hospital officials could not release conditions for Alonzo and Cotton because they are minors. Mack was treated and released.
