Religion Notebook: Organ concert Sunday

Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt St., will present a benefit organ concert Sunday at 3 p.m. with organist Chris Nelson performing J.S. Bach on the church’s historic pipe organ.

Donations will be accepted to benefit the church’s 60th anniversary celebration taking place April 17.

Cookies and punch will follow the concert.

Seminar

Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W. Northwest Blvd., will present guest speaker Jeff Gibbs, professor and chairman of the Department of Exegetical Theology at Concordia Seminary, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Gibbs will speak on the topic “People of Hope: Living with Eager Expectation of Jesus’ Return.”

The cost to attend is $20 and includes lunch.

Rummage sales

• Fowler United Methodist Church , 3928 N. Howard St., will hold its annual rummage sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The proceeds of the sale will benefit the church’s United Methodist Women’s Mission Outreach.

• Trinity United Methodist Church , 1725 E. Bridgeport Ave., will hold a book and rummage sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Items up for sale include books, sheet music, records, furniture, clothing, household items and miscellaneous goods.
