Roundup: University’s season ends on 1-hitter by Kamiakin

It’s tough to win baseball games when a team doesn’t get many hits.

It’s even tougher when a team hasn’t had a hit through the first six innings.

Kamiakin pitcher Garrett Anderson had a no-hitter through the first out in the seventh inning and it was more than enough for the Braves to top the visiting University Titans 8-0 in a 3A Regional game Saturday afternoon.

The Braves advance to state while University (18-6) was eliminated.

Anderson (10-0), who had eight strikeouts, finished with a one-hitter against the usually potent-hitting Titans. Nick Motsinger broke up the no-hit bid.

Blake Oord went 2 for 2 with four RBIs for Kamiakin.
