Roundup: Coug women breeze past Prairie View at tourney

Freshman Tia Presley scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures and the Washington State Cougars (4-3) closed out play in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Tournament with a 90-52 victory over the Prairie View A&M Panthers (1-4) on Saturday at St. Thomas.

Carly Noyes added 13 points and April Cook and Ireti Amojo each scored 11 for the Cougars, who shot 58.7 percent from the floor for the game.

Michaela Burton had a game-high 18 points for the Panthers, an NCAA tournament team last season.

San Diego State 63, Washington 51: Chairese Culberson scored 14 to lead four players in double figures and the Aztecs (4-1) breezed to a victory over the Huskies (3-2) in San Diego.

Regina Rogers hit 12 of 18 shots from the floor and finished with a game-high 26 points for the Huskies. She also led all rebounders with 10.

Idaho 71, Morehead State 45: Stacey Barr came off the bench to score 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting and the Idaho Vandals (2-4) snapped a four-game losing streak with a victory over the Eagles (1-5) in the New Mexico Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.

Ganeaye Rogers added 14 points and Alyssa Charlston scored 12 for the Vandals, who shot 48 percent from the floor for the game.

Ashar Harris tossed in a game-high 21 points for the Eagles.

BYU 77, Eastern Washington 58: Kim Parker and reserve Jennifer Hamson each scored 13 points to help propel the Cougars (4-2) to a win over the Eagles (2-3) in Provo, Utah.

Brianne Ryan hit three 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points for the Eagles. She also had a game-high eight rebounds.

Cal Lutheran 67, Whitworth 64: Chelsey Hastigan poured in a game-high 20 points to help the Regals (2-1) hold off the Pirates (1-4) at the Posada Royale Classic in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Jamie Lyons topped the Whits with 16 points, while Emily Guthrie scored 15.

North Idaho 66, Wenatchee Valley 39: Kate Buskey tallied 12 points and reserve Danika Johnson scored 11 to lead the Cardinals (4-1) past the Knights at the NIC Thanksgiving Classic in Coeur d’Alene.

Williston State 62, CC Spokane 52: Maggie Lorenz totaled 13 points and eight rebounds to lift the Tetons (2-3) to a win over the Sasquatch (2-3) at the NIC Thanksgiving Classic in Coeur d’Alene.
