Car injures protester crossing Main
Wed., Oct. 12, 2011
An Occupy Spokane protester was transported to a local hospital after being hit by a car while apparently crossing Main Avenue against a red light.
The crash occurred just before 8:20 p.m. Tuesday at Main and Monroe Street.
The man, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was hit by an older, two-door Ford Mustang, which remained at the scene. The car was westbound on Main when he hit the pedestrian, who was northbound on Monroe. The driver and several witnesses said the driver had a green light.
Police said the victim was wearing dark clothing and the driver didn’t see him.
