North Spokane fire sends 6 people to hospital

An early morning fire in north Spokane landed six people in the hospital, one at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with burns. Spokane Fire Department responded at 6:51 a.m. to the home at 2923 E. Central Ave. after receiving reports of a fire with people inside the home. Firefighters searched the home and rescued two people, who were cared for on scene by paramedics. Ambulances took five people from the fire scene to local hospitals. In addition, a man was sent to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment for burns. No firefighters were injured. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
