Pirates surge late for seventh straight win
ORANGE, Calif. – Taylor Farnsworth led three players in double figures with 14 points as the Whitworth men’s basketball team pulled away in the second half and beat Chapman 67-62 in a nonconference game.
The win was the Pirates’ seventh straight after their season-opening loss to St. Thomas.
Wade Gebbers had 13 points and Colton McCargar added 12 points and six rebounds for Whitworth (7-1).
Colin Zavrsnick scored 22 and Taylor Hamasaki added 19 for Chapman (4-4).
Whitworth plays Redlands today, also in Orange, Calif.
