Spokane Police continue to search today for a man identified as the shooter in a homicide discovered Sunday morning at a house near North Central High School. The Spokane County Medical Examiner today identified the victim as 27-year-old Aaron Cummings. The cause of death was a gunshot to the chest and the manner of death was homcide. Meanwhile, Police continue to look for the suspected shooter, Salvador Rivera-Romero, who was last seen leaving the area of the shooting in a dark-colored Dodge Intrepid. Officers responded at 5:30 a.m. Sunday to a house near the intersection of Spofford Avenue and Wall Street and found a man in his mid-20s dead inside the home from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Officers questioned three people who were at the house at the time of the shooting. The Spokane County Medical Exainer’s Office had not released the name of the victim as of this afternoon. Office John Gately said the major crimes detectives investigating the killing were not working Monday. Patrol officers have been on the lookout, but had not been able to locate Rivera-Romero by late Monday, he said. Anyone with information about Rivera-Romero is asked to call 9-1-1 or Crime Check at 456-2233. However, residents should not approach him, Gately said.
