In brief: Cast votes online for summer movies
SPOKANE VALLEY – The city of Spokane Valley invites members of the community to cast their votes for what movies will be shown at the 2012 Summer Outdoor Movies in Mirabeau Park.
Movie options are: “Cars 2,” “Dolphin Tale,” “Happy Feet 2,” “Hugo,” “Kung Fu Panda 2,” “Puss in Boots,” “The Muppets,” “The Smurfs,” “Soul Surfer” and “Zookeeper.” The winning movies will be shown July 21 and Aug. 18.
To vote, visit www.spokanevalley.org and follow the link to the “Movies in Mirabeau Park” survey. First, second and third-favorite choices are requested. Votes can also be cast by calling (509) 720-5408.

SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting reservations for park facilities for upcoming warm weather events.
Residents can reserve a facility by submitting a completed facility usage application form along with full payment of all fees and deposits by mail, fax, email or in person at CenterPlace Regional Event Center, 2426 N. Discovery Place.
Instructions for submission are available on the application form, the Spokane Valley Park reservations and usage page at www.spokanevalley.org, or the “How to Reserve a Park Facility” brochure available at Spokane Valley City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave., Suite 106.
Available times vary, and fees range from $26 for the first hour at ball fields to $250 for two hours at Mirabeau Springs. Insurance coverage may be required for some types of events.
