University unleashes pins on Lewis and Clark

The undefeated University Titans used a stretch of six pins in seven matches to pull away for a 59-17 win over the visiting Lewis and Clark Tigers (0-5) in a Greater Spokane League dual wrestling match on Wednesday.

A first-round pin by 113-pounder Mikey Garrison started the Titans (5-0) off and running and a third-round pin by Tanner Orndorff at 152 pounds capped the run that put the match away.

• Deer Park 145-pounder Levi Zeik set the tone in the second match of the night when he used a reversal and near fall in the third round to rally from a 4-3 deficit to post an 8-4 win as the Stags cruised to a 48-19 win over the West Valley Eagles in Great Northern League action.

Gymnastics

Cadie Pratt won the vault, balance beam and floor exercise and Hannah Bergstrand placed second in all-around to lead the Mead Panthers to victory in a four-team GSL match at Central Valley.

Mead finished with 169.725 points, easily outdistancing runner-up University (154.9). Central Valley was third with 146.65 points, followed by Lewis and Clark at 141.575.
