Fire crews check for smoke at Wells Fargo downtown

Spokane fire crews were at the Wells Fargo bank building in downtown Spokane on tonight trying to locate the source of a smoke smell on the 16th and 17th floors. Fire officials said the smoke had the odor of burned electrical equipment, but they were having trouble locating the source, which was isolated to the northeast corner of the 16th floor. A fire crew was to remain at the scene at 601 W. First Ave. following the call around 6:40 p.m.
