Spokane driver killed in collision with semi

A Spokane man died Tuesday night after his car collided with a semitruck south of Deer Park.

Sean A. Dieringer Burns, 23, died at the scene around 9:30 p.m., the Washington State Patrol reported.

Burns was headed north on U.S. Highway 395 just south of Half Moon Road when his 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo crossed the centerline, the WSP said. The car collided with a southbound 2012 Freightliner semi driven by Randall L. Degner, 55, of Colville.

Both vehicles were totaled. Degner was injured but was not taken to the hospital, the WSP said.

Both men were wearing seat belts.

City completes plowing in Browne’s Addition

The city of Spokane completed plowing in the Browne’s Addition neighborhood Wednesday, and 15 more vehicles were towed in the process.

Anyone whose vehicle was towed should call (509) 625-4100 with the VIN or license plate number.

Vehicles parked in Browne’s Addition when plows are scheduled to come through are towed because the streets are narrow. The city plowed the north-south streets Tuesday and east-west streets Wednesday. Sixteen vehicles were towed Tuesday.
