Tri-City rallies past Indians for NWL victory

PASCO – Cody Kendall’s wild pitch in the eighth inning allowed Rosell Herrera to score from third base as the Tri-City Dust Devils rallied for a 5-4 Northwest League victory over the Spokane Indians on Sunday night.

The Indians (8-16), who lost their fourth in a row, took a 4-0 lead before the Dust Devils recorded their first hit. Ryan Rua’s triple in the first inning drove in Hirotoshi Onaka, and Spokane scored three in the third inning on sacrifice flies by Patrick Cantwell and Brandon Garcia and a double by Joe Maloney.

Tri-City scored four runs in the fourth inning and the game remained tied until the eighth. Herrera reached on a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and went to third on a groundout before scoring on the second wild pitch of the inning by Kendall (1-2).
