Don’t miss

“GAME OF THRONES” SEASON 2 FINALE: The brutal Battle of Blackwater may be over, but the fog of war continues to thicken as this astonishing fantasy series wraps up a season full of chaos, blood, betrayal and black magic. As usual, viewers will be delivered to several fronts: The traitorous Theon (Alfie Allen) is fighting to hold on to Winterfell; in the Riverlands, Jaqen gives Arya (Maisie Williams) a gift; in Qarth, Dany (Emilia Clarke) visits a wondrous place; and beyond the Wall, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) confronts a major decision. 9 p.m. Sunday, HBO.

Other bets

SUNDAY: “Adele Live in London” is a special that has the golden-voiced Grammy winner talking to Matt Lauer about the amazing year she’s had. Also included: highlights from her show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. 8 p.m., NBC.

SUNDAY: Russell Brand is our host for the “2012 MTV Movie Awards,” which always amuses us with its play-it-loose vibe. The quirky categories this year include Best Kiss, Best Fight and Best On-Screen Dirtbag. 9 p.m., MTV.

SUNDAY: The “diva” quotient in “Drop Dead Diva” doubles as Kim Kardashian begins a multi-episode guest role as a notorious relationship guru in the Season 4 opener. 9 p.m., Lifetime.

MONDAY: If you can’t stand the heat, get the heck out of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Sadistic chef Gordon Ramsay returns for another season of culinary combat as aspiring restaurant managers are put through the paces. The show precedes the season opener of “MasterChef.” 8 p.m., Fox.

TUESDAY: The elusive “A” may have been finally outed, but that doesn’t mean there’s a drop-off in drama on “Pretty Little Liars.” The addictive series returns for a third season that will introduce a new mystery for the gang. 8 p.m., ABC Family.

TUESDAY: “Concert for the Queen: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration With Katie Couric” is a musical gala honoring Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne. Among the big names performing at the big bash: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Tom Jones and Stevie Wonder. 9 p.m., ABC.

TUESDAY: Don’t expect everything to be hunky-dory between Maura (Sasha Alexander) and Jane (Angie Harmon) when “Rizzoli & Isles” returns for Season 3. They’re not exactly on great terms after Jane put a bullet in Maura’s father. 9 p.m., TNT.

WEDNESDAY: Toby Keith and Kristen Bell are our hosts for the 2012 CMT Music Awards. Carrie Underwood leads all contenders with five nominations and is scheduled to perform, along with Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley and others. 8 p.m., CMT.

THURSDAY: Dean Cain, Carmen Electra and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino are among the marginal celebrities out to make a love connection on “The Choice,” an offbeat new reality series that essentially arranges blind dates. It debuts right after another new dating series, “Take Me Out.” 9 p.m., Fox.

FRIDAY: “VH1 Storytellers” turns its focus on Norah Jones, who broke big in 2002 with a debut album that earned five Grammys. Jones talks about her life and career and performs some of her hits. 11 p.m., VH1.

SATURDAY: We were stoked when we heard about “Jersey Shore Shark Attack,” thinking that someone unleashed a bunch of killer fish on Snooki and the gang. Alas, it’s a just a low-rent TV movie about predators causing havoc in the waters off the Garden State. 9 p.m., Syfy.
