LeBron James Poses for Pre-Wedding Photo with Couple
Fresh off winning his ring, the new NBA star posed for a photo with a couple before they exchange their own rings
A funny thing happened on the way to the wedding - the couple ran into newly minted NBA champion LeBron James!
Jamie (Epstein) Kolnick and her husband Shaun tied the knot over the weekend at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove in Miami, where it was rumored that James, two days after winning his first NBA championship with the Miami Heat, was going to be sitting down with a reporter from Sports Illustrated.
Then, minutes before the ceremony, the couple spotted James in the hotel’s courtyard and pounced on the opportunity to snap a photo.
“He said, ‘Yeah, yeah, no problem,’” Kolnick said. “The crazy part for me was that we had the wedding photographer taking our picture, plus 50-60 people taking pictures right next to our photographer!”
The couple also was thankful that the Heat had finished off the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5, last Thursday, June 21. Some members of the wedding party attended Game 5, while others watched it from the hotel bar. Had the Heat not won that game, they’d have been playing last Saturday night - right in the middle of the wedding festivities.
“We were actually terrified [the final game] would be on our wedding day,” Kolnick said. “And no one would come!”
